OPENING
Our team of experienced highly trained pool technicians make sure that your pool opening is carried out quickly, efficiently and professionally. Ancaster and surrounding area residents trust Lagoon Pool & Spa year after year to ensure their pools are open and ready for a summer full of fun.
CHECKLIST
Before we get there please be sure to:

Leave your gate unlocked.

Leave all necessary accessories out (ladder, solar blanket, bucket for cover).

Leave garden hose accessible and water is turned on from inside the house.

Power is on to the outside of your house for the pump.

Make sure all pets are secure within your house.
Please Note the following:
Your garden hose will be left on to fill your pool. We ask that you ensure that the water level is monitored and it turned off once the level of the water ½ way up the skimmer face plate. Call the store when the water is at the proper level.
IMPORTANT: If no one is going to be home it is imperative that you let us know so that we do not leave the water running unattended.

If you have a vinyl lock-in cover you must store it in a proper container, filled with water and 500mls of concentrated algaecide (recommended). Do Not store this type of cover Dry.

A water sample should be brought into Lagoon Pools, 24 hours after pool water has been circulating. We can help to ensure the balancing of your water so that your sanitizer is most efficient.

Salt water pools will not have the Salt Chlorinator started up. Pool water needs to be an average of 68 degrees and your salt level needs to be within operating range before doing so.

CSA regulation state that only licensed gas fitters may light a pool heater. We can refer you to a licensed individual or you may contact your local gas provider.

Any debris removed from the top of your pool cover will be neatly stored in a garbage bag for you to easily dispose of.

If any of your equipment is not in working order at the time of Opening and we are unable to continue, it will be necessary for you to set up a service call. Please call our store to arrange an additional service call.

Safety Covers normally open with much debris in the pool due to the mesh surface. It is recommended that extra chemical be added to the opening process. There is an additional cost and must be mentioned at the time of booking or prior to our crew coming out. Thank you.

Before we get there please be sure to:

Have a sample of your water analysed 4 days prior to your closing. This will allow adequate time to make any necessary chemical changes to your water.

Leave your gate unlocked.

Leave all necessary accessories out (winter plugs, Gizzmo, winter cover, water bags, and accessories for proper installation of your cover)

Leave garden hose accessible and water is turned on from inside the house.

Power is on to the outside of your house so we have power for our pump.

Insure the pool has been cleaned and vacuumed before our arrival.

Make sure all pets are secure within your house.
Please Note the Following:

If you have a vinyl lock-in cover, it is common that you have extra snaps or liner lock to secure the cover in the coping. Please have these out and accessible for the crew at the time of your closing. If needed please let us know a few days before we come out.

A water sample should be brought into Lagoon Pools 4 days or more prior to closing so that any balancing of the water’s chemistry may be done before closing the pool.

Salt water pools are recommended to have the salt cell cleaned before storing for the winter. Please book this at the time you book your closing. Additional fee is applicable.

If you require your pool to be vacuumed at the time of the closing this must be stated at time of booking your closing. The price is determined by the state of your pool and the gravity of the job. Please contact our store for more information.

All equipment should be in working order at the time of Closing. If not please arrange for an additional service call to correct the problem.

Pools with a Safety Cover are recommended to have extra chemical of both Algaecide and shock administered to help insure the water gets a boost to fight off the small particles that slip through the mesh causing algae pools.
